Casa Esquina del Ojo
Description
Casa Esquina del Ojo is conveniently located 4 bedroom home. It is a gentle downhill walk to Centro’s main square, and a short walk to Parque Juarez, Rosewood and Sierra Nevada hotels, and Mercado Sano. The owners have been careful to combine Mexican colonial architecture with modern style and convenience.
The first level of the house includes the living room, dining room, kitchen as well as a bedroom containing a queen bed and full en suite bathroom. The dining room, the rear of which is a wall of windows and French doors, opens up to the lushly landscaped back garden, fountain, and a sala featuring a grill and fireplace lending a sense of indoor/outdoor living. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and decorative Talavera tile. The living room can accommodate eight people for conversation, watching the large flatscreen TV, or gathering around the gas fireplace.
There are three additional bedrooms on the second floor. The large master bedroom is located at the rear of the house and overlooks the garden. It features a king-size bed and an en suite full bathroom. It also features a sitting area with a gas fireplace and television.
There are two additional guest rooms on the second floor, both with full en suite bathrooms. One has a queen-size bed, and the other contains two twin beds that can be a king.
The rooftop has comfortable seating for both sun and shade, as well as a colorful pot garden. It boasts a magnificent 360-degree view including sunsets, weekend mornings, hot air balloons, downtown San Miguel, the Parroquia, and Iglesia de San Antonio.
The housekeeper visits twice weekly and is also available to cook meals at an additional cost. Use of the single car garage, Wifi, phones, and bottled water are included with the stay. You will be thrilled with this beautiful home and neighborhood.
This home is yours exclusively for the length of your stay no shared spaces, no other guests, just you and the people you bring with you. Beyond the property itself, our on-the-ground team is part of what you’re booking. Need a ride from the airport, a stocked fridge before you arrive, daily housekeeping, or a private chef for one night? We arrange it. Curious about a wine tasting in the valley, a morning on horseback, a sunrise hot air balloon flight, or a guided walk through Centro’s history? We set that up too. And if a lightbulb dies our team responds in real time, not next week. Reach out any time we’re here for the small requests and the big ones.
San Miguel de Allende is a working colonial town first, a postcard second and that’s exactly its charm. Founded over four centuries ago and protected as a national historic site, the city wasn’t built for convenience; it was built to last, and it shows. During your stay, don’t be surprised by church bells marking the hours, fireworks celebrating something (anything, any time of day), a parade rerouting traffic for an afternoon, or the particular music of the trash collector’s bell and the knife sharpener’s whistle making their rounds. Roosters crow. Dogs bark. Construction crews keep their own schedule.
The cobblestones that make San Miguel so photogenic also make for an uneven walk — comfortable shoes are non-negotiable. Older infrastructure means water pressure, hot water, internet, or power can occasionally take an unannounced break, usually a short one. None of this is a flaw in your particular home; it’s simply how a centuries-old town breathes. If your idea of a perfect stay requires total predictability and silence, a smaller town outside the historic center might suit you better. But if you can take the unpredictable in stride, you’ll find it’s part of what makes this place unlike anywhere else.
You won’t need a car here. Taxis are everywhere and inexpensive — flag down a green cab and expect to pay around $80 MXN ($90-100 to most areas) for a ride anywhere in town. Uber works in San Miguel too, though cars can take a little longer to arrive than you’re used to elsewhere, so build in a few extra minutes. For something more tailored, we can arrange a private driver for in-town or day-trip travel (pricing depends on distance), and we offer airport transfers for $900 MXN per person (minimum two people) each way. Just message us and we’ll have it scheduled.
All rates shown are all-inclusive and reflect the full cost of your stay, including applicable taxes and platform fees.
